Job Description
Salary National Minimum Wage (dependent upon age)
39 weeks (term time only)
1 day per week (either Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday)
10am to 2pm – 4 hours per week
Must be flexible with availability to work
Based at Ulley Reservoir, Ulley Country Park, Sheffield, S26 3YF
Line of responsibility:
The Part-Time Catering Assistant will work under the direction of the Catering Coordinator.
Duties and responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities are indicated below. Other duties of an appropriate level and nature may also be required, as directed by the Catering Coordinator/Principal.
Key accountabilities:
To carry out any other duties as may, from time-to-time, be required by the Catering Coordinator/Principal.
- To participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.
Duties to include
- Assisting with basic food preparation activities, including washing, peeling and cutting vegetables
- Cleaning and sanitising all tableware before, during and after catering.
- Setting up dining areas by arranging chairs, tables, banners and tents, according to the Catering Coordinator’s instructions
- Loading and unloading food, tableware and catering supplies on and off of catering vehicles
- Ensuring there is no shortage of supplies by managing orders and inventory where applicable.
- Answering guests’ questions and handling complaints related to catering services during an event
Experience/training required
- Food hygiene Level 1 or above
Notes:
Ensure those areas of the college environment within the scope of the Catering Assistant’s duties conform to the Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974, and the Fire Regulations.
Training
- The post holder needs to keep up to date with legislation and training. Courses may need to be undertaken from time to time and hours may be varied to accommodate such training.
