Pastoral support is a vital part of our commitment to student wellbeing at ROC. We know that young people learn best when they feel safe, supported and ready to engage. Each tutor group has a designated Pastoral Lead who builds strong relationships with students, offering a familiar face and trusted point of contact. They help students manage challenges, regulate emotions and overcome barriers to learning.

Support is tailored to individual needs and includes regular check-ins, early intervention and close collaboration with tutors, therapists, families and external agencies. This joined-up approach helps students stay settled in lessons, reduces disruption and improves engagement. The team also reinforces key life skills such as building healthy relationships, recognising safe boundaries and developing confidence. Their presence ensures students feel heard, valued and ready to learn.

When students feel supported, they can achieve their full potential. Pastoral care at ROC helps make that happen.
