A New Home for ROC
ROC is creating a new campus at Sycamore Road that will allow us to expand specialist learning environments, improve accessibility and provide better facilities that support our students. This project represents a once‑in‑a‑generation opportunity to secure a safe, fit‑for‑purpose and sustainable college environment that meets the rising need for SEND education across Rotherham and South Yorkshire.

Why Are We Moving?
Since opening in 2018, ROC has grown significantly and now supports over 70 young people. Our current site (MyPlace) has enabled us to build a supportive learning community, but it no longer provides the space or facilities needed to deliver the full experience our students deserve.
Moving to Sycamore Road will give us the space and facilities to create specialist teaching environments, improve accessibility, strengthen our health and wellbeing provision and expand vocational and life‑skills training, while also enabling us to support more young people in the future.
Our Starting Point
The Sycamore Road site requires significant renovation to create a safe, welcoming and fully accessible environment where our students can learn the skills they need for a successful transition into adulthood. To transform the site into a purpose‑designed space for SEND education, we must undertake a major programme of refurbishment and development, which is why fundraising is essential to help us bring the project to life.

The Sycamore House Site
The Sycamore House site offers approximately 20,000 sq ft of internal space across two buildings, a significant increase from the 6,500 sq ft available at MyPlace. It features a secure perimeter with controlled access, on‑site parking and a safe drop‑off and pick‑up area, along with outdoor space that can be used for learning, wellbeing and recreation. The location also benefits from excellent transport links, including nearby bus routes and a planned cycle lane, making it easily accessible for students, families and staff. The Sycamore House development will create a modern, inclusive SEND learning environment including:
