Student-Led ROC Café at Ulley Country Park
The ROC Café, based at Ulley Country Park and overlooking the reservoir, offers more than just refreshments. It provides valuable work experience for our students with SEND, helping them build confidence and practical skills for life after college.
Since opening in July 2024, around 40 students have taken part in the café programme. With support from staff, students learn how to prepare food, serve customers and follow health and safety procedures. For many, it’s their first experience of a workplace and a key step towards independence.
From 10 September, the café will be open three days a week during term time: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10am to 2pm. Visitors can enjoy a range of snacks and drinks made by our students, including our famous sausage sandwiches, along with friendly service and beautiful views of the reservoir.
