New Inclusive Exercise Sessions Coming to Rotherham Thanks to Sport England Funding

Rotherham Opportunities College (ROC) is delighted to share some exciting news about a brand‑new community offer designed to make movement, wellbeing and social connection more accessible for people with learning disabilities and those who find traditional exercise spaces difficult to access.

Thanks to a generous grant from Sport England, ROC will be launching a programme of inclusive, physiotherapist‑led exercise sessions for local people. These sessions are open to individuals with a learning disability, as well as their families and carers, and are designed to remove barriers to physical activity in a safe, calm and supportive environment.

Each session will be designed and led by ROC’s specialist physiotherapy team, who have extensive experience supporting people with disabilities, long‑term health conditions and low confidence around exercise. Activities will be adapted to each person’s needs, abilities and comfort levels, with a focus on feeling safe, supported and welcome.

Participants will be encouraged to attend with someone who can join in alongside them. This helps us ensure safety, provide assistance where needed and create a positive, shared experience.
