Jeans for Genes Day: Raising Awareness and Celebrating Inclusivity

Last week, ROC proudly took part in Jeans for Genes Day, a national campaign that shines a light on the millions of people affected by genetic conditions. Staff and students wore denim to show their support and spark conversations about the challenges many individuals and families face.

Genetic conditions can be diagnosed at birth, during childhood or even into adulthood. They often have a lasting impact, and it’s vital that support is available when it’s needed most. As a SEND college, ROC is committed to promoting understanding and inclusion, making sure every person feels seen and supported.

Wearing jeans is a simple way to show support and raise awareness—because while genetic conditions aren’t always visible, our solidarity can be. At ROC, we believe in the power of community, empathy and action. Jeans for Genes Day is more than just a moment—it’s a movement. And we’re proud to be part of it.
