ASDA Visits ROC to Support Students and Strengthen Community Ties

Last week, staff from local ASDA stores paid a visit to ROC, the visit highlighted ASDA’s commitment to the community and its desire to get involved in a variety of initiatives that benefit students and staff alike.

ASDA’s support comes in many forms. They generously offered to let a small group of ROC students bag pack for them at their store, with all the money raised going directly to the college. This will provide students with a valuable experience, as well as much-needed funds to support ongoing projects. Additionally, ASDA expressed interest in assisting with upcoming events such as Pancake Day and British Pie Week by providing food and supplies, ensuring these events are a success and full of excitement for everyone involved.

ASDA’s contributions don’t stop there. They have already shown their generosity by donating three backpacks for ROC’s upcoming Austerfield trip, part of the ROC 25 Event, which aims to provide memorable learning experiences for students. Furthermore, in the spirit of the season, ASDA is preparing to donate a collection of Easter eggs, which will be used in a raffle for Easter, providing yet another fun and engaging opportunity for students to look forward to.

Looking towards the future, ASDA is also keen to help provide long-term work experience placements for ROC students, which will give the students the chance to gain valuable skills and insights in a real-world retail environment.

A staff member from ROC shared their excitement, saying, “It was lovely to have ASDA visit us at ROC. We really enjoyed hosting them because they were so positive and blown away by all the brilliant stuff we do at ROC. Their visit was a wonderful reminder of the strength and support of our local community.”

This collaboration is part of ROC’s ongoing efforts to build strong ties within the local community and ASDA’s involvement is a prime example of this. Our organizations share a common focus on supporting local causes like Sam’s Army, demonstrating our shared values and commitment to making a positive impact in the local community.

This exciting partnership between ROC and ASDA is a shining example of how businesses can collaborate with us to create a lasting impact for our students and the wider community.
