This prevent plan is to try and reduce the risk of people being radicalised.
If you are radicalised it means someone has forced you to believe extreme ideas that you didn’t have before.
This includes far right groups and some animal right groups.
Violent extremism is violence, terrorism or other activities.
Violent behaviour or terrorist activity can happen because of extreme beliefs or rules
Prevent is part of a Government plan to stop terrorism in the UK.
Challenge terrorism and the people who believe that terrorism is a good thing
Give help to people who are at risk of being radicalised
Work together with a range of groups where there are risks of radicalisation.
The groups might be people who work in education, criminal justice, faith, charities, the internet and health.
